OBITUARY
Turhan (Terry) Bey Sharp was born on November 14,1946
in Royal Oak Township, Michigan to union of Leon I. Sharp
and Minnie Upshaw (both deceased). The eldest of two
Children, his younger sister Kathleen Sharp O’Neal
proceeds him in death. He attended Detroit Public
Schools, graduating from Northwestern High in1965.
He soon went to work for Chrysler Corporation from where
he retired after 38 years of service. One of the loves of
Terry’s life was bowling, where he was given the nickname
of T-Bone. Over the years he was a member, sometimes
Captain, of several bowling leagues and traveled to many
tournaments every year until his health prevented him
from doing so.
He married his first wife, Carol Clay, and to this union 2
children were born, Patricia A. Sharp and Burnardo M.
Clay. In 1976, he married his current wife, Mable Burns
Sharp.
Over the years, he enjoyed the company of many family
members and friends, watching sports and traveling.
In the early morning of January 21, 2026, Terry departed
this life after a lengthy illness.
He was proceeded in death by a daughter, Iris (Cookie)
Clay and two of grandchildren, Je’Quon Gordon and
Turhan Clay. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife:
Mable Sharp; daughter: Patricia Gordon; son: Burnardo
Clay, brother: Ruben (Yolanda) Hughley; brother-in-law
Durie (Gail) Burns, an adoptive son: Kevin Bracy; 12
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of
friends.
